Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

It poured a rich and hazy gold with a very thick head. Aroma was full of citrus, I expected it to be a bit more tart and really didn’t expect the honey like sweetness which followed (very sweet!) The best description I can give is a carbonated mead. Decent beer but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Descent beer. Reminds me of a wheat beer in terms of the appearance and the taste. Cloudy orange pour with a thick white head. Aroma has some citrus, honey and banana. Taste has a pretty good sweetness. Descent.

I really hope this was supposed to look like an unfiltered wheat, or I’ll be calling off work tommorrow. Cloudy, amber/orange with some yeasty bits floating around under a fading white head. Primarily malty aromas, caramel-cookie, with a yeasty background and a hint of chicken soup. Flavor started with a sour citrus, moved to a salty, woody middle and finished with a honey sweetness. Texture was dry and a bit flat.

Wow, I seem to be one of the few to like this one. Maybe because I have been travelling ALL DAY and anything would taste great right now, but I really like the heavy malt notes.

22oz. bottle. Golden color with thick white head. Malt and a bit of hops in the aroma. Taste is very well balanced, moderately sweet with just enough hop finish. Medium bodied with a very soft mouthfeel. Not a great beer, but very pleasant and enjoyable.

Bottled, pasteurised. Straw gold with carbonated white head. Grassy fresh note in the aroma but with a forced boile hop flavour. Overlively on the tongue with a low, light malt finish. Average.

Ther’es not much of a head to this hazy golden drink; I guess it only comes out for beer ad commercials. Nice clean orangey aroma with a bit of tartness and some herbs in the background. The mouthfeel is livelier than it looks like it would be and it’s got a pleasant, spicy orange flavor. The finish is slightly bitter at the very end. Not bad.

Sort of reminds me of the typical French restaurant: pay a lot ($2.79), get less (11.2 oz) of a iffy product. Looking back, it’s probably _never_ going to work out to pay this much for anything in a green bottle, but I wasn’t thinking at the time. As it stands, I came home with a bottle that smelled slightly skunky on the pour. The taste has a slight skunk element but even more prominently seems watery and as if infused with campari & triple sec, actually the infused nature is a positive though. Overall I get the same feeling as after a French restaurant: still hungry (in this case "still thirsty").
