Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

Unimpressive pilsner-like aroma. The flavour is sweet and decently pleasant with hints of spices and fruits. Not Jenlain’s finest and what’s up with the bottle? If it is indeed a "beer for keeping", why on earth put it in an ugly and almost clear bottle?

Aroma is vanilla and sugar. Appearance is a murky yellow color. Flavor is very bland with a sugary aftertaste. It's similar to a light pilsener with a few teaspoons of sugar throw in. I’m not impressed with this one at all. The Jenlain Ambree is much better. I dub this beer Pepe Le Pew, because its from France and it stinks!

When I first poured it, I thought, Heineken, the smells are very similar - that's not a big selling point in my book. As mentioned by others, this is quite sweet, with a strange aftertaste, not necessarily bad, just strange. It's about the cheapest beer I can get this isn't called wonderbrau here, so for the money its not terrible

Far, far too sweet. It has some hops, but they stand no chance against the fruity (apple) malts. Sorta like a European Strong Lager, except ale. Still, wasn't unenjoyable except for a slight metalic aftertaste.

Golden body, large frothy head. Sweet, apple-cidery aroma. Fairly overwhelming acidic apple cider malt flavor, something seems off. Finish is smooth, sweet but lacking hop character. It took me awhile to drink this, sweetness and cider flavors become overwhelming as it warms.

slightly sweet aroma--a little skunky (probably from the green bottle), and a little winey. the body is fairly light, with a sweet malty backbone. a little bit of floral hops bitterness, but the finish is just a little too sweet and syrupy.

Decent semi-sweet aroma, little bit skunky. Few floral notes. Medium gold clear with little head. Medium carb with medium watery body. Light sweetness, peppery. Good level of hops. Bit of citrus, barnyard, & wheat. Light bitter finish.
