Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

Pours a coppery gold color with a nice white head. Aroma is a little skunky. Flavor is sweet, malty and syrupy with a sweet finish.

A subtle and complex beer that appears, on first glance, to be a French interpretation of the Pils style. A very light, fluffy head with a golden color. A refreshing, light taste with good malt accents and a smoothness to the hops. A sneaky aroma that is clean and apertif-like, akin to the Pils. In every other respect a very subtle, smooth-drinking ale with a wonderful balance of malt and hops.

A cloying sweetness throughout except for a metalic taste in the finish. The alcohol was evident in the taste. Unbalanced in presentation. Little in the way of balancing hoppiness. A pass in my book.

Gold yellow. Soft palate, very sweet and sugary. Subtle fruits, not a whole lot going on.

(Canned) Pale golden colour. Decent head. Sweet aroma with notes of pears. Sweet flavour with notes of honey and pineapple. The alcohol gives it a somewhat dry, nutty finish.

Out of bottle Big white head. Spicy and smooth. Not bad. A little watery for my tastes but its still a pretty good drink.
