Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

Bottle. Pours a nice clear golden colour with a short lasting bubbly head. Malty aroma with citrus and grass. The flavour is a bit sweet with citrus and malt, grains, grass and honey. Bit dry maltish sweet frutish finish.

Clear pale golden beer with a thick sticky white head. Clean pale malt aroma, straw and fresh grass/flowers. A touch of light honey and soft breadiness. Very expressive maltiness... lean, light, but not boring. A light peachy flavour comes out as the beer warms, playing off of the herbal/honey flavours. One of the better pale lagers I’ve had in quite some time.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head, some lace. Really grassy nose along with some fruity hops and quite bitter. Flavour is very much the same along with earthy notes.

Can from Intermarche, Nr Boulogne, France. Golden with a white head. Sweet malty aroma. Smooth, sweet malt taste. Slight bitterness. Pretty similar to the Kronenbourg Rouge next to which it was sitting on the shelf. Don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I really rather like these strong French canned lagers.

Yellow blond coloured beer with very little carbonation and a large white head. Little malty sweet aroma. Medium body. Finish is light bitter, sweet. Not bad and refreshing. medium one.

Bottle. Sugary and sweet, candyish. Fizzy, floral and also a touch yeasty. Too sweet, with not enough complexity. I found it a struggle to get through one bottle.

Bottle. Blonde beer with a hint of grain in the aroma. Sweetish, grainy and sticky flavor with some fruity (melon) esters. Short aftertaste.
