Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

easy drinking but not enjoyable drinking... pale gold, some fruit nose, some spice and this carries through for the flavour, not a great one. few bottles still at smokeless Joes. i know because i worked there 2 weeks ago

(65 cl bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a short, almost non-existing frothy white head. Sweet grainy aroma with a touch of marzipan and shy fruity and grassy notes, also a bit alcoholic. Sweetish, slightly artificial flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Grainy taste, sweetish and a bit sticky finish with notes of sweet almonds/marzipan. Definitely not my cup of tea (05.10.06).

Golden colored pour with medium sized head. Sweet vanilla aroma with a malty finish to it. Not too bad actually.

Bottle (65cl): Pale golden, small foamy layer; barley, almonds, sugar in the nose with a light bitter aroma; sweetish flavour, light to medium bodied; short, sweetish-almondy finish. Clean, but boring..............

50 cl can. No yeast at the bottom. Golden clear colour with a white fizzy head. Light aroma of grain, malt and alcohol. Very soft flavour of sweetness, malt and ends up soft and little alcohol at the end.

A 750 ml bought by Old Faithful and shared with crwills and james. This is a minimal beer of biere de garde and watered down pale. Thin mouthfeel, some head and light colour. A basic biere de garde aroma, minimal hops, drinkable. 2005 bottle, not past expirey.

[Bottled] Clear golden. Fruity peach aroma. Sweet and fairly soft. Medium bodied and overly fruity with notes of red berries. Low bitterness.

The aroma is not unlike some Belgian ales with yeast, ginger, citrus, and hops. The appearance is pale gold with a slight haze and a large head that fades fast. The flavor is sweet and bitter. Also it’s quite robust with all the elements from the aroma. The palate is thin. Totally unexpected! It’s not a great beer but it’s the most unique Pale Lager I have had to date.
