Commercial Description:
With its splendid golden hues and fruity tones, Jenlain No. Six has a distinctive bitter finish and a hoppy nose. The barley-scented liquor sparkles under its light, foamy head. Light and thirst-quenching, with a rich characteristic savour, it is best served at between 5 and 6°C, with a meal or as an aperitif. Filtered, and lagered but unpasteurised.

Editor’s Note:From 2000 until March 2005 this was known as Jenlain Blonde. The name Jenlain Blonde now is used for a new (March 2005) product of 7.5% abv.

One of the best french ales, light in color but robust and full flavored a great summer drink, the blonde is a big step up from the brown. This squeeks by 3 monts as the best French ale

Had this one at the Bayou in SLC. Pours a nice clean golden color, nice carbonation, little fizzy white head, with some islands and sticky lacing around the edges. The nose is malty, very sweet, with some spicyness. The taste is sweet, malty, very slight yeast and spice. Medium body, the finish is slightly dry. Very drinkable, this is a awesome little brew, highly recommended.

High white head on a clear yellow body. From the lookj of it, on might think this just another pilsner. But this first impression is denied as soon as you taste the beer: it has a very nice sweetness, avoiding much of the hoppy bitterness characteristic of many blond beers. I was a bit bothered by the clear bottle: this brew deserves better.

2006 vintage bottle pour. The aroma was sweet malt with hints of citrus.Nice amber/gold color with a good white head.Flavor was a nice mild hop and sweet malt flavor.Had a bit o a metallic aftertaste but was not too harsh.Alcohol was hidden well and the carbonation was very good and went down easy.I like this and could be a really good session beer.

Incredibly floral scent. Smells like an english garden. Gold in colour, with little head and no lacing. Taste is slightly sweet initially. Then a hopped bitternes, with a faint sweet finish. Generally very pleasing.

Had a bottle of this last night. 12 oz green bottle labeled Jenlain Blonde French Golden Ale Brasseurs. Nose not skunked despite the green bottle; mostly very humble grass & grain, some spice and floral notes. The brew pours a light clear golden straw. The outstanding head has an impressive cascade like a fine stout and morphs into a firm rocky pure white head that leaves stiff hunks of lace on the side of the glass, and has great retention. The flavor is mostly sweet but not overly so. The light creamy body is smooth as silk. It is this type of experience that keeps me trying new beers. After almost 500 samples I’ve never tried anything like this offering. Both interesting, and different.
