Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

Bottle, corked. 6% ABV. Blonde, hazy, foamy head. Flowery citric aroma with a touch of honey. Malty sweetish, citric, slightly perfumed and flowery flavor. Just a tad thin. Honey. Likeable bière de garde.

The label on the bottle referred to this as an Abbey Ale, and that claim led to my disappointment with this beer. It looked the part, with a golden color and nice sticky Belgian lace, but its flavor really struck me as being quite boring for this style. Aroma was OK, and this beer exhibited some faint sourness with maybe some faint cloviness. Flavor was the boring part of this beer, with a bit of very approachable sourness that really didn’t move me. The beer didn’t really exhibit any other strong flavor notes to me. Mouthfeel was good and smooth (like a secondary fermentation should), but that wasn’t really enough to win me over and get me past the non-flavor of this particular beer.

Gold color with nice head. Little aroma. Mostly sweet taste. Tasted good---but bland.

Bottle. Pours with a golden, clear color and a medium head. Aromas of spices, a bit of hops and some dough. Flavors of dough and yeats a bit of citrus and orange, some spices and some hops. I think this is much better than the rating percentile suggests. It is very well balanced.

12 oz bottle from Malt of the Earth Beer club. Pours a clear golden blond with an average sized head. Nose is a little spicey and quite malty. Taste is some wheat, pear, peach, cardomom, subtle floral hops, a little grassiness in the finish. I seem to detect even a bit of toastiness in the aftertaste. Carbonation is high and body is mediium.

cloudy amber pour with medium white head..aroma is very unique..honey, citrus hops, yeast, and apple complement its somewhat sour/funky backbone..flavor is of honey, light orange and coriander, a touch of vinegar and apple...much better than what i was expecting

The aroma had light malt, honey, caramel, and hints of citrus and coriander with spicy saaz hops. The beer poured a light borwn, clear color with thin lasting head and lacing. The flavor had caramel, molasses, honey, spicy saaz hops, coriander, and hints of citrus. The mouthfeel was light and carbonated while being warm and wet. This was a 750ml bottle from Holiday Wine Celllars in Escondido, CA. The label had a note of "Ano 1110" on the front and on the ring label at the neck.
