My Bottom Line:
Sweet peach juice and yeasty flaccidity cannot coalesce, as coriander spiciness attempts to freshen the experience. A weak Belgian Ale at this point in its evolution.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam settles atop the chunk-full pale orange.
-A vinegary nudge bothers the sugary fruitiness.
-Alcohol even appears in the flavor profile, which isn’t necessary at this gravity.
-The sweet fruitiness more and more resembles that of the syrup found at the bottom of canned peaches.
-Although this Belgian Ale is a month past its life expectancy, I would be rather surprised that it was considerably better a month or three ago.

Bottle; best before December ’06.

Slightly amber hue, with a big rocky beige head, with some floaties of lees swirling around, yeasty, toasted malt, with a fruity note of ripe apples, hints of spicy nutmeg, coriander, brown sugar, faint hop in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp yeasty toasted malt and fruity character of ripe apples, with a subtle nutmeg spiciness, floral hops, toffeeish note, leading towards a winey fruity finish.

Bottle, best before 2005. Hazy dark amber coloured with an average white head and some light carbonation. Sweet yeasty aroma with a fruity touch (citrus, apple). Full body. Finish is fruity, light bitter yeasty. Goop preserved, nice beer.

Another Jeff beer, very much a Duvel look-alike, nice and flavoursome, but not as good as the original.

Frothy, even fizzy off-white head. Good lacing. Amber color. The aroma is impressive: cookie, banana, raisin, apple, fig, a bit of pine. Very energizing. The flavor though does not stand up to the aroma. Starts just fruity, even slightly sour; finishes heavy bitter with a sharp alcoholic flavor. The texture is dry, though feels somewhat fizzy in the mouth.

Bought at Fedici, Diest. The building on the lable is Den Drossaard in Diest, the former youth hostel were I have a have a summer job each year. The beer is dark amber, clearly unfiltered. Aroma of malts and dried fruits, raisin, yeast, clearly alcoholic. Complex flavour with subtle fruitiness and sourness.

why does the label state it’s brewed by brewery Duysters? labelbeer from Huyghe? pours amber colored with a bubbly big head which disappeares quickly. smells fruity, yeasty and sweet. taste: sweetish, caramel, fruity and alcoholic followed by a nice hopbitter. finishes dry, bitter and long with a slight cardboard taste. medium bodied, fizzy co2. not bad.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber coloured with a considerable head. Very complex with an initial sweetness being substituted by hoppiness only to finish slightly sour. Notes of fruit, yeast and caramel - in no particular order. OK, but a bit confusing. 100398
