| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Has a nice rich malty aroma with some notes of smoke and coffee. Little bit of sour tang in there, too, with chocolate and lactose. Dark brown-black clear with thin but creamy looking light tan lacing head. Medium body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts sweet with rich malt, toasted grain, semi-sweet chocolate and notes of coffee and lactose. Mild bitter finish, smooth, with nutty semi-sweet after. This is a nice Baltic porter, with a nice balance of sweet and bitter. TomDecapolis (3195), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Poured a translucent brown red color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, anise, smoke, burnt bread, and light caramel. Taste of cocoa, anise, light smoke, tobacco, roasted malts, with light caramel malts, and a dry finish. A distant relative of Perkunos, the relationship is certainly there. Much better than the Baltic Thunder.
