Appears a transparent light gold with a small white head that slowly fades into a mild collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of fruity esters up front with highlites of white grapes, and ripe bananas. The taste really seems to come together with a grainy, yeasty vanilla version of the mentioned aromas rounding out the overall flavors. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth, with notes of freshly cracked grain hitting the palate.

Draft a while back. I saw that Earth Bread had made a second Biere de Garde, and remembered how much I had enjoyed the first one they brewed. Searched for the beer and realized that I had never entered my rating. After about a half hour of rummaging through all my old notes I finally unearthed it (pun intended). Pours golden orange with a lasting white head. The aroma has some sweeter malts, a hint of fruity sweetness and background spices. The flavor also has sweet caramel malts, with a light fruity hint, and a dry earthy finish. Very tasty and very easy to drink.

(10/21/08) Draught at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Deep golden color with a white head. Aroma of malt, some spice and light citric hints. Sweetish malty flavor with some spiciness, fruity notes and a dry finish. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

Pours a nice slightly hazy copper with a nice lasting tight white head. Aroma is earthy, doughy, light pils malts, bready ligth caramel sweetness and light herbal hops witha bit of dirt and elather. Good refreshingly clean flavor- doughy, crisp pale malts, lgith sweetness and a good earthy bitterness and finishes clean and dry. Nice farmhouse beer for sure.

Slightly hazy dark amber pour, thick white head that didn’t stick around too long. Slightly spicy aroma - some honey, maybe ginger or other funky sweetness. Flavor had a nice sharp citrus twang with a pleasant dry finish. Nicely hopped too - just enough for a balanced bitterness and some floral notes in the taste. Complex and enjoyable.

[Draft @ EB+B] Poured a lightly hazy, dark golden color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet honey, toffee malts, some ginger, and floral hops. Taste of toasted malts, grains, citrus, and an earthy, dry finish.
