| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2008 Appears a slightly transparent, light gold with a small white cap that quickly fades into a mild collar. Gentle spots of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of smoked meats, doughy yeast and freshly picked, spring flowers.
Taste is of camp fire wood inflused meat, dough, and obvious wheat. Mild hopping comes through.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, chewy, with a tad bit of bubble gum dust sticking to the palate.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Tap at Spuyten a ways back. Very odd aroma of light smoke and very sugary fruits, sort of like prune juice. Flavor remains sweet, lots of wheat, still a bit pruney. A bit more smoke at the finish, but it’s still weird smoked fruits. Odd and quite off-putting. LilBeerDoctor (1505), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Draft at Spuyten Duyvil. Pours a clear deep orange with no head. Aroma of light smokey notes and sweet malt. Flavor is smokey initially (just smoke, no meats) but the smoke doesn’t really blend with the underlying malt. I also got some milky, odd, nasty notes. This was pretty bad.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Tap at the brewery. Pours golden, slightly pale straw, with a thin white head, aroma is smokey, but not overdone smoke. taste is lightly smoked, like beechwood, smoked ham, and nice earthy overtones. really enjoyable. the smoke was more of a compliment than an overpowering tone. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Pale amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly rauchy. Earthy and a little bit watery. Meh... tastes like dirty dishwater. Not really smokey... more like a thinly charry flavour. Thin-bodied and quite boring. Warming improves the beer quite a bit but it still doesn’t really do it for me. DSG (1513), Tel Aviv, Israel
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2008 (10/21/08) Draught at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Hazy amber color with a small white head. Aroma of smoked sausage, some malt, a bit of wood and caramelly hints. Rather smoky flavor with some light meat notes, malt, and a dry finish with some more smoke and faint hoppy and herbal notes. Medium-bodied. A good Smoked. Rciesla (3670), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Draft at the Brew Pub. My personal favorite of the trip. Light Amber body with a 1 finger off white heat. Smoke peat malt, char and campfire aromatics. Light fruity esters and a lightly smoke flavor. Solid offering. puzzl (2621), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2008 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Exciting to see this stuff showing up outside of the brewery already. However the beer was very disappointing. Dead pour, ugly orange, no head. Aroma is hammy, meaty, freshly lit matches. Some dry smoke and tar flavor is met with a surprising amount of bright hops that clashes with the smoke. Like a hoppy version of cinderbock. Very meh. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Amber color with a medium head. Aroma is big and smokey with some roast, BBQ, and sweet wheat. Flavor is dynamite! Awesome roasty flavor with some light wheat and lots of BBQ/grill tastes. Smooth and satisfying finish. Would be awesome just on taste alone, but it could be the best 4% ABV (or less) beer ever. I love this stuff!
