Eddie McStiffs Moab Blueberry Wheat

Tap at Eddie’s. Nice clean aroma of blueberries. Flavor is of the same - the actual fruit, not a flavoring - and includes the skin plus another odd spice: coriander:? Rosemary? Generally refreshing but slightly syruppy.

On tap in Moab at the brewpub. It’s hot as hell here already and this beer was a nice refresher. Cloudy orange body with a thin white head. The aroma is really quite nice; strong wheat and blueberry notes. The taste was also full of wheat, some citrus, straw, and a more subtle blueberry. Very enjoyable. The aroma was the best part though.

22oz bomber-A yellow body with a normal white head and an aroma of blueberries, slight yeast, citrus, and mild malt. Taste of blueberry and wheat but not a good balance. Its like one is fighting off the other.

on tap-pours a white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is mild blueberry, grain, citrus. Taste is mild blueberry, grain, citrus hops. Pleasant, light body.

I had previously tried Eddie’s Raspberry and liked it and being a blueberry fan, thought I’d give this a try. The blueberry flavor struck me as being like blueberry syrup rather than fresh blueberries, but not overall unpleasant. Fairly thin mouthfeel, but doesn’t sit heavy either. Would like to try it from a fresh batch at the brewpub rather than a who-knows-how-old bottle.

Small head, stale wheat aroma. Taste is all blueberry and some wheat. I like the leafy flavored wheat beers, but this has gone too far as it brings in off bitter flavors. Watery body.

The worst of the Eddie Mcstiff’s beers that I have tried so far. Not much flavor of anything, some wheat is evident but not enough to get excited about.

On-tap at the brewpub: Clearish lighter pale yellow color with about a finger high white cap that faded some to a empty fizz and minimal spots of lace stick. Aroma is sweet whith a wheat presence and some blueberry tartness thats pretty fresh, crisp, and clean. Taste is failr boring, no real long lasting flavor or body. Sweet, crisp, light, slight fruitiness and blueberry hints. Nothing to write home about but its better then you’d think. Feel is thin and closing in on watery, but the sweetness isn’t too bad. You know you’re drinking a fruity flavored beer and thats that.
