When I heard they were making this beer several years ago I wanted to try it, but never saw it until a friend brought me a sample. Before I tried this beer my favorite light beer was Grant’s Celtic Ale (or mild I make myself) .. after I tried this beer that hasn’t changed. Just a tad of sweet toffee character on top of a light lager. I wish they made this as an ale to make a few flavors. Disappointing. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Trader Joe’s pickup. Pale fizzy yellow, but did manage a decent and lasting head. Aroma frankly quite skunky. Faint grain present. Cooked vegetable note fades slowly as well. Flavor is mostly grainy, very faint hay hops, and then a very light and watery finish. Not totally awful for the style. JPDIPSO (4926), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Straw color with a diminishing somewhat fizzy looking white head. Cooked green vegetable aromas, some chard and peas come to mind. some grains and a touch of alcohol is also caught. At least it is faint enough so not to be that offensive. Some light sugary sweetness. Not malty more like powdered sugar with a touch of dried flowers and grass. Very vapid and irritatingly insipid. IrishBoy (2718), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jul 5, 2007 Nice nose. Resembles Newcastle Brown. Brassy golden color with a diminishing white head. A bit fizzy. Thin to medium bodied. Sort of a caramelly flavor, but not too sweet. The finish is balanced caramel and bitter. Still makes me think a bit of Newcastle Brown - very, very, light (and lagery) version.
