Very malty, intensely fruity yet there is definite hoppyness to this beer. Very smooth flavor. Mouthfeel is round and full, expansive. Finish is smooth and mellow. Aftertaste is banana like, slightly sweet. Very little alcohol bite for a 10% beer. Label quotes ’A Belgian style ale combing the best of a white (wit) ale and a triple. Then cranked up a notch’;. Very nice beer. Should be sipped, slowly.
I agree, the world need more of this beer, or at least I do!

Prepare for a joy ride through vinous, alcoholic, citrus, spicy, yeasty, and wheaty with subtle malt characteristics. Whalloping and warming. Better as it warms. Triple plus nice. The initial aroma does not prepare you for the honey and earthiness that will arrive later. As close to a trip as the contents would allow. REVOLUTIONARY! Edsten is no longer produced, if you can find Ed Edsten, DEMAND that he resume brewing and by golly, let me know where to get his damn beer. Shadallion (526), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 19, 2001 Witbier fans can rejoice; this beer has the corriander/wheaty character you crave, but with the complexity and punch of a triple. Honey was the first flavor description that popped into my head, but there’s much more here: yeast, bread, some weird spices and a perfectly balanced alcoholic warmth. I’m not a huge fan of either witbier or Tripples, or I might give this a higher score. Still, a very interesting and unique beer. Thanks user_experience!
