Nose is of light caramel and grassy hops. Flavor is caramel, grass, nuts, and some earthy notes. Light and watery on the palate. Not much carbonation. Not much about this one worth remembering. Mouthfeel os thick enough for the style. Not great in one area, but all around above average for the style. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA

Maybe this was an off batch, but it seemed to lack in body and flavor compared to Eel River’s Extra Pale Ale. While it had a fair appearance and a medium body the flavor fell flat. I would be leary of this one. The flavor varied from bottle to bottle with in the same six pack. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Caramel aroma had lost it’s sweetness and smelled stale. Copper body with off white head. Body flavor was thin and watery. Also has a medium bitterness to the flavor. Watered down bitter brew I guess this one wasn’t ment for me anyway. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2006 The pour is a really deep amber color, with lots of lively carbonation. Some fresh fruity aromas, a nice mixture of hoppy and malty aromas. Toasted malty flavors, caramel and just the right amount of hops. Not bad nick76 (2676), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2006 The aroma is really nice! It has root beer, vanilla, toffee, chocolate, and toasted malt. The appearance is deep amber with a medium foamy head. The flavor is toasted malt, caramel, and mild hops. The palate is just about right and the aftertaste is bitter. Overall it’s good. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2005 Pours a deep copper color with a soft head. Fruity hop aroma sits over a balanced amber ale, but once again this one has the same problem is their other beers, a dry dusty flavor in their grain. The only beer i didn’t notice this on was the porter, which probably covered this up with its sweetness. Light caramel notes up front flow to a well rounded hop finish, lightly fruity with no crispness, staying very wet on the palate.
