A seemingly hop/malt balanced aroma, leaning more toward the hops though. Apricots, flowers. . . moderately bitter taste of soap, citrus cardboard. The feel is full and has a lot of carbonation. I liked it. Sure, it wasn’t the best, but it was better than 11% for it’s style. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of lemon, and light grapefruit over grains. Flavor is grainy with biscuit malts, blended with citrus grapefruit and lemon finish. Highly carbonated. Fizzy mouthfeel. Crisp and clean finish. Fairly bitter as well on the finish. A pretty drinkable pale. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Tasted like a lighter version of an IPA, pleasant taste overall. Malts, hops, and citrus are present, as well as the hint of nuttiness. The hints of nutty tones are present in the aroma with a light hop scent. Very drinkable pale ale. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2006 Upon the pour from the stubby 12-ounce brown bottle, the beer sets in the glass a slightly hazy gold with a personable creamy bright white head that slowly erodes leaving a thin but concealing sheet of lace. Nose is sweet malt, nutty, hints of lemons, also has that musty tone, found in many organic beers, start is somewhat sweet, the grain presence delightful, top is middling in feel. Finish has a kindly acidity, the hops delectable in their spiciness, quite dry aftertaste, and a very drinkable beer. hayduke (1687), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Updated: Feb 27, 2007On tap. Orange with white head. Nice floral nose, and nicely balanced hops. Overall a nice ale to drink.
Re-rate. I tried this again and feel they have improved this since the last rating. I feel it is one of the better APAs around, I have tried it both on tap and in the bottle. The tap version is really fresh and clean. Maybe because it is organic, the bottle version does not seem quite as good. The rating above is for draft. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Bottle. Almost overly formed head with a bit of beer beneath... Once this strong head settles you have a surprize of flavor in this organic pale ale. Slightly sweet open and a mild bitter finish. Ok, I admit I was pleased with this one. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2005 Bright orange body with a tall white head. Overall this was a nice pale, crisp floral hops, light citrus tones, with a mild caramel malt start, good refershing qualities. Once again i get a dry dusty flavor out of their malts, but the hops at least muted it in this one, even more so then the ipa managed to. oh6gdx (9115), Vasa, Finland
