Once this strong head settles you have a surprize of flavor in this organic pale ale. Slightly sweet open and a mild bitter finish. Ok, I admit I was pleased with this one. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2006 Bottle. I think this beer is underrated, maybe because it is a fairly simple American Ale. It has lots of unique qualities at second glance, though. Lots of fruity, citrusy hop flavor, nice pour. oh6gdx (9102), Vasa, Finland
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Strong fruitish hoppy aroma with some bitterish notes. Sweet malts as well as fruity hops in flavour. Pleasant bitter fruitish aftertaste. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2006 The aroma is citrus hops and bread like yeast and malt. The appearance is hazy orange/gold with a HUGE head (this beer is 100% head when poured)! The flavor has caramel malt with lemon grass and sour dough bread. The palate is thin. This beer was even better than expected. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2006 Upon the pour from the stubby 12-ounce brown bottle, the beer sets in the glass a slightly hazy gold with a personable creamy bright white head that slowly erodes leaving a thin but concealing sheet of lace. Nose is sweet malt, nutty, hints of lemons, also has that musty tone, found in many organic beers, start is somewhat sweet, the grain presence delightful, top is middling in feel. Finish has a kindly acidity, the hops delectable in their spiciness, quite dry aftertaste, and a very drinkable beer. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Orangy brown, decent creamy head, some lace. Delicious pale ale - hoppy nose. Hoppy, malty, both very balanced. Nothing wrong here, well-done pale ale. nearbeer (1868), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2007 355 ml. Murky, melted butter color with a huge and lasting head with big foamy lace. Aroma of crackers, sourish honey. Flavor of crisp dry cereal with honey. Finish is bitter herbs and grass. Palate is light-medium bodied and mostly smooth with a slightly dry and tingly finish. This one is underrated, probably because it doesn’t taste like the ever-present, Cascade-hopped PA. hayduke (1670), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Updated: Feb 27, 2007On tap. Orange with white head. Nice floral nose, and nicely balanced hops. Overall a nice ale to drink.
Re-rate. I tried this again and feel they have improved this since the last rating. I feel it is one of the better APAs around, I have tried it both on tap and in the bottle. The tap version is really fresh and clean. Maybe because it is organic, the bottle version does not seem quite as good. The rating above is for draft.
