Pours a translucent copper color with a big white head that has great retention and some minor lacing. The nose is moderate in strength with some citrus, pine and caramel. The flavor is more of the same, indistinct citrus, some not to biter pine and a boatload of caramel. The mouthfeel is medium with extra fizzy carbonation. The finish is long and biter. Overall: This one just does not grab me. That aside it is one of the better organic offerings, and at 4.99 a bomber it is a good value for the money.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 bottle: pours golden amber. Aroma of citrus and hops. Lacks the strong floral character that I like in an IPA, though the strong kick of hops is certainly there. Caramel malts, sugary fruits. cmonster (113), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Short 12oz bottle. Reddish amber color. Thin white head. Aroma is earthy and of toasted malts and a bit of caramelized sugars. Flavor is a simple toffee, a touch of caramel malt, and a nice toasted malt. Well balanced, not over hopped. In fact the lack there of hops make qualify this beer to be more of a American Pale Ale than an IPA, if you do not count in the 7%ABV. Finishes with a light bit of wood and a distant flavor of citrus. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Clear, deep orange color with a frothy, off-white head. Very good head retention.
Aroma: Lighter nose than I would expect from an IPA with some pine hops, citrus, and floral notes. Slight earth notes as well.
Flavor: Light flavor profile that starts with aggressive pine hops, but then quickly fades into nothingness. Light floral notes are there but almost nothing on the malt side.
Palate: Medium, soft carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a short, floral finish.
Overall: Really lacking IPA boldness. It just kind of sits there on the tongue. Not recommended. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Nice golden coloured body with a copper glow and a very thin slightly off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops, metal, malt, caramel and a touch of nuts. Medium-bodied; Good body for the beer, some light apricot and fruit flavours and a very minimal amount of hops - not much to speak of at all. Aftertaste easily shows more malt and caramel than anything else, only faint hops on the end. Overall, not such a great IPA - a drinkable beer, but not hoppy or bitter at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, California on 18-May-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 27-October-2009. Aromas of lemon and grapefruit on the nose. Analogous flavors, although I opine that it was more grapefruit than lemon on the tongue. Medium bodied. Decent hoppy bitterness but not overwhelmingly so. smith4498 (919), Miami, Florida, USA
