The aroma has chocolate, cream, toasted malt, and sweet nuts. The appearance is red-brown with a very large head. The flavor is a disappointment. It has only the toasted malt element from the aroma plus coffee. And it also has a sour taste and the bitter element is very astringent. The palate is smooth but thin. The aftertaste is like poorly made coffee. I don’t think I have ever had a porter that smelled so good but tasted so bad.

12oz. bottle. Deep red-brown with a medium sized light brown head. Chalky chocolate and toasted nuts in the aroma. Heavy toast and astringent huskiness match cocoa and coffee bean flavors. Mild sweetness peers through in the finish, with coffee grinds and toast scrapings. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat lusterous.

brown in color w/ hints of red thick full tan head an some nicee lacing. Nice chocolate aroma w/ hints of coffee. Very nice palate well coated and lightly chewy. Flavor is a very smooth and mellow well blended fresh chocolates balanced against a lightly grassed dry finish. Very nice porter.

GABF 2006. The beer pours to a glowing mahogany chestnut body with a rich creamy beige head. The aroma smells like a grain silo. Very raw and clean grain. Light chocolate. The flavor is fresh and clean grains, chocolate, crisp toastiness. Refreshing palate. Very unique and very good on tap.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with lots of ruby where light shines through. Nice tan head. Aroma is very sweet chocolate, with notes of coffee and caramel. Flavor is much the same. Not very robust, but a tasty porter with definite session potential.

12oz bottle poured dark in color with a nice light brown head. The aromas were roasted malts, chocolate, toffee and some coffee notes. The flavor was nice with a smooth bitterness and some good roasted and chocolate malts. Overall a very good porter with a great mix of flavors that all stand out in there own way.

Bottled. Pours a translucent dark brown with garnet highlights. Thick, creamy, lacy tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate, coffee and nutty malt. The body is medium with fairly active carbonation. The taste is revisited ty chocolate, coffee and nutty malt with some cookie dough to round things out. Espresso-bitter finish with some hoppy notes. Well rounded and refreshing.

Translucent and bronzed-mahogany in color with a dense, spongy, one-inch khaki tan head alongside beautiful, milky retention. Aroma revels in bittersweet chocolate, sugar cubes with embedded mocha beans, hazelnuts, breakfast blend coffee and cursive caramel. Formidable chocolate flavor sense comes in with a delectable melting quality. Amplified chocolate slabs seeping over honey graham crackers are then drizzled with caramel sauce. Roasty coffee sentiments come forth with a minorly sweet, nutty chord by means of hazelnuts. Almost chewing, bracing the boundary between medium and full-bodied bliss. The key take-away is milk chocolate, and a lot of it. Very well made, and much appreciation to tpkenned for the bottle!
