| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2006 Translucent and bronzed-mahogany in color with a dense, spongy, one-inch khaki tan head alongside beautiful, milky retention. Aroma revels in bittersweet chocolate, sugar cubes with embedded mocha beans, hazelnuts, breakfast blend coffee and cursive caramel. Formidable chocolate flavor sense comes in with a delectable melting quality. Amplified chocolate slabs seeping over honey graham crackers are then drizzled with caramel sauce. Roasty coffee sentiments come forth with a minorly sweet, nutty chord by means of hazelnuts. Almost chewing, bracing the boundary between medium and full-bodied bliss. The key take-away is milk chocolate, and a lot of it. Very well made, and much appreciation to tpkenned for the bottle! jah noth (1023), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2006 Bottle shared with and courtesy of Jerc. Very dark ruby red/brown. Big tight brownish/white head - creamy. Very mild malt and roast aroma. Decent taste - roasty, sweet, bitter, but not really balanced. There was just something odd and grainy about this one that turned me off a bit - tough to follow up Avery Out of Bounds Stout as well - so it stays in my good category but certainly not great. jerc (3964), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Dark brown with a creamy tan head that fades a bit (3+). Mild roast is the dominant aroma, with hints of chocolate. Flavour of moderately roasty bitter chocolate, with lingering chocolate and cocoa in the finish and aftertaste. Average to medium palate (3+). Quite nice but needs a little more oomph to take it to the next level. Thanks for the trade Larry Pitonka! OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Pours dark brown with a short creamy beige head that stays pretty well. Aroma of roasted malt and a touch of chocolate sweetness. Flavor is roasted malt, and a lot of milk chocolate, a slight bit of sour on the back side. Pretty smooth and creamy on the palate. Not too bad. Pretty well balanced. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA

I’ve had a couple of these recently and just wanted to say that I think this porter is quite good... I think it represents every kind of porter in one integrated package... the malts of a baltic porter, the roasted flavors of a domestic porter and the balance of an English Porter... A nice sipper. And oh yeah, organic!
