The beer after it release from the 12-ounce bottle set in the glass a clear brown as viewed by a soft white bulb, the is portly in size, a winsome light tan in color and the texture somewhat creamy, as it slowly fades away the residual lace forms a surrounding skirt upon the glass. Nose is sweet with a nice hint of lightly toasted grain, caramel, fresh and appealing to both the eye and the nose, start is lightly sweet with a delectable grain profile and the top light to moderate in feel. Finish has a purposeful acidity and the hops delightful in their spiciness, quite dry aftertaste with a nice drinking beer that left me quite satisfied.

Pours a huge light brown head above a deep dark garnet colored body. The aroma is malty bringing bread dough and molasses to mind. The flavor is balanced, yet slightly to the sweet side with a bit of bitterness towards the end as it fades into a coffee finish. Thanks to Bück Dich for sending this one.

Poured black with nice thick head. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, sweet malt as is the flavor that just got better as it warmed. Medium body and big flavor make this a great porter...me thinks.

Nice thick porter. I was initially turned off by the smokiness, but it turned into a sweet finish that wasn’t cloying. Unbelievable that it is organic.

Roasted malts give the impression of coffee grounds with some notes of raisins and chocolate in the aroma. Opaque darkest brown body with thin but lasting cover of tan head. Fairly sweet and chocolatey with a strong fruity component, some green hop flavour and dark roastiness lending a pleasant constrasting bitterness in the finish. Medium-full body with mild carbonation is syruppy in the throat. Though not offensive, a fair vegetal aroma and flavour emerges as an undercurrent as it warms. Bottle (trade Dec. 2004). Good looking with a dark, dark brown body and creamy tan head. The aroma was faintly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, filberts, caramel. This was light bodied for a porter with more carbonation than I prefer in the style and a thin mouthfeel. The flavor echoed the aroma elements in a subtle way. Porters should be more intense.

pours a dark brown with a moderate amount of offwhite head. A fair amount of lacing left from the somewhat diminishing head. Very nice smell, you smell roasted immeadetly, roasted hops, coffee maybe even some slight chocolate smell to it. Smell also has a neat sweet undertone to it. Outstanding body smooth and mouth coating. Taste starts off bitter roasted but very nice and gives way to a mostly sweetly roasted somewhat bitter aftertaste that lingers for quite awhile. Outstanding beer.

Dark brown with a big pillowy head and very nice lace. The aroma is roasted malt and medium coffee. Fairly plain. The flavor is bitter and roasty. Tastes better than it smells and the palate is nice. Soft carbonation, bitter, and creamy. Some hazelnot comes through in the aftertaste. Almost a very good porter but it does not quite make it.
