Trade with After4ever, thanks Tom! It is black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, light chocolate, pumpkin and a weird touch of chicory. The flavour has a light sweetness and a light roasted bitterness. It has notes of chocolate, coffee, licorice, light ashes and the finish has some citrussy hops, that gives a light bite in the very end.

A nice roasty porter. Good aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is quite roasted...with coffee and chocolate balancing the hop presence.

brown body tan head that had good retention. Aroma was mainly of roasted coffee. Inital flavor was of bittersweet chocolate but gave way to a smokey note. A nice smooth yet slightly dry finish. Decent beer. Would get again.

Draft @ Eel River. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some hints of coffee. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

Pours a dark brown that shows ruby highlights in the light. The head is two fingers creamy and light tan. The aroma is bakers chocolate, coffee, malty, roasty, mildly sweet. The flavor is shows bitter chocolate and then hands down peanut shells. Man, after I made that association I couldn’t taste anything else. Ok, mild bitterness. Some coffee roast/bitterness going on. Mild sweetness, even a peaty quality. Pretty good porter.

Almost black pour topped by a slowly departing off-white head that leaves a fine crown behind. Immediately roasty nose, really grainy at that. Coffee is easy to pick up as a descriptive, but it remains quite simple. The fruit development is minimal; it stays mostly grainy and roast-flavoured and those flavours keep on for a relatively long time in the almost smoky finish. Soft hoppiness provides a slight earthiness which blends in naturally with the roast. Quite dry on the palate, though without acidity to meddle with it. Nut skin, almost astringent coating finish. Getting better as it warms up, but all in the simple, but effective realm.

I found the beer to be almost black. It poured with a minimal head with lacing on the glass. It has a heavy coffee aroma to it. Goves a good coffee burst with a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel was Ok but I found it to be a bit thin. Not too bad, but not my favorite!

12-oz. This is a bit of a weird one. Pours jet black with a dense, moussy tan head that falls quickly away to a light film. The smell is what makes it so strange: hugely boozy, a bit plummy, smells much stronger than it might be as a house porter, or maybe it smells a bit buggy with that fruit note. But it drinks just fine. Medium body, very creamy, very mouth-coating, with just a hint of that drying chalkiness so common to porters. Roasty, chocolatey, a bit smokey, touch of plum. Delicious and satisfying with the huge mouthfeel.
