DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 25, 2005 (Draft: Eel River Brewing Company in Fortuna, CA) Though not an especially flavorful hefeweizen, wheat and spice "dominate" the flavor. It’s fairly dry with only a mild sweetness in the background. Wheat and spice aromas are joined by a modest funk in the nose. Dry on the palate, and fairly light bodied. Medium straw color, somewhat hazy, but pretty clear for a hefeweizen, and thus the very large, quickly rising carbonation bubbles are readily visible. White head is small on the pour and fades to a broken sheen quickly. I like the spice, but otherwise, a very ordinary hefeweizen. joet (1624), Fulton, California, USA Jul 9, 2001 Lemon all over the aroma, clear color(!), sweet and bright, tastes like a Radler (Germ. wheat and 7-Up) minus some sweetness and plus more style/quality, very drinkable and refreshing.
