jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 15, 2009 This looked nice and syrupy coming out of the bottle. Very dark, brown highlights. Thin head. Nice, typical IS aroma of dark chocolate, dark roasted malt and light coffee. Palate is dark fruit, is oily, then I get the more typical coffee and then heavy chocolate malt. Alcohol is totally masked. Body is a bit on the light side, but overall this is a very nice beer. BVery (446), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Mar 15, 2009 TAP: dark brown, low head. Mild carbonation. Smell of roast, some alcohol, some sweet/dark fruit. Smooth tasting, slight hop, mild coffee taste. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Feb 23, 2009 Bomber from Bevmo. Its nice to find another imperial stout that i can find locally that i haven’t rated. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and slightly coffee. Taste is sweet, liquory and overall decent. sloth (1658), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Feb 21, 2009 Small brown head with fair retention, lacing was spotty. Black pour. Light nose of roast and coffee, lightly fruity. Medium body, lightly oily on the palate. Laid back roast and coffee flavors, light pineyness with some berryish and sweet malt notes. Lightly sweet malty roasty finish. Props to captaincougar for the bomber. Thanks Tom! GMCC2181 (846), Bear, Delaware, USA Feb 20, 2009 Bottle shared by sloth at SL. Thanks Bert. Nice black color, small head. Good nose of chocolate, roasted malts and a touch of hops. Taste was the same. Nice chocolate, coffee and roasted malt taste. Never heard of a "nitrogen" conditioned beer before. Texture and carbonation level was average. Pretty smooth. Overall a solid RIS. Thanks bert! danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Feb 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep cola brown with very little head. Nose is malty with a nice coffee tone. Nice medium espresso and chocolate flavors. Nicely balanced malts. Mouth is fairly full, sticky finish. Flavors fade on this beer from the initial intensity but still a pretty good IRS. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Feb 16, 2009 Black with a larg pudding-like tan head.
