Good nose of chocolate, roasted malts and a touch of hops. Taste was the same. Nice chocolate, coffee and roasted malt taste. Never heard of a "nitrogen" conditioned beer before. Texture and carbonation level was average. Pretty smooth. Overall a solid RIS. Thanks bert! danielcurtis81 (886), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep cola brown with very little head. Nose is malty with a nice coffee tone. Nice medium espresso and chocolate flavors. Nicely balanced malts. Mouth is fairly full, sticky finish. Flavors fade on this beer from the initial intensity but still a pretty good IRS. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Clear black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is a lot of chocolate and roasted malts. Some coffee and chocolate milk come through at the end. Flavor begins with a strong hint of black licorice mixing with some roasted malts. The middle is a good amount of espresso and chocolate malts with a lightly bitter and burnt malt finish. A little thin-bodied for an imperial stout. SDalkoholic (1188), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Pours a reasonable dark brown color with thin layer of foam. I detect a simple amount of roast malt and light scent of black licorice but nothing more substantial. Flavor is heavy and holds its weight in alcohol and dark black malt finishing with bitter bits of chocolate. It does taste organic but at the same time a bit empty and incomplete to be taken seriously as an imperial stout. milljam (569), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Fairly typical imp stout. Mainly sweet flavor with some chocolate and coffee notes with a backbone of roasted malt. Aroma is pretty similar to the flavor profile. Rciesla (3600), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
