I do not get the espresso or coffee in the description. Not intense enough for my taste I like a more solid Imperial Stout. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2007 22oz - Aroma is roasted dark malts, espresso and snappy hops. Pours black with a small brown head and good lacing. Flavor is chocolate, mocha and a lingering hop bitterness. Very smooth and creamy with the alcohol hidden well. A nice imperial stout. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2009 This was kind of dull for an impy stout. A nice black body that had a thin brown head which lacked any real retention. Aroma was of some coffee notes and some chocolate notes. Flavor was similar only it seemed sweeter than anything else. There was a slight smoke note to it. Finish was too light. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Faint aroma of roasty malt.
Flavor of roasted mals, caramel, coffee with a rather thin body. Not bad...so,so. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Bottled. Beer is very dark brown, nearly opaque. Head is beige, frothy/bubbly, small and mostly diminishing.
The aroma is malty with a heavy note of deeply roasted grain, moderate black coffee and dark chocolate; Hoppy with a moderately heavy resinous herb note; Yeasty with just a light note of basement; Light note of alcohol, trace under-ripe banana.
The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter with a long, moderate/heavily bitter, moderately sweet finish. Grippy.
The body is full, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Thick and chewy, really a great feel on the tongue. This was a brew to sip slowly and enjoy the comlexity and changes as it warmed. nuplastikk (1214), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2009 500ml bottle scooped up in Milwaukee. Opaque black, maybe a hint of brown. Big rusty beige head. Solid chocolate aroma, like hot cocoa with a touch of hoppy astringency. Damn, this beer is quite nice and mellow for the ABV. Silky, creamy mouthfeel. There is some hoppy bitterness up front, but fades into a sweet chocolate finish. You get hints of the high alcohol every so often, but overall quite nice and dangerously sessionable. Well done. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Dark, dark pour with great mocha head. Nose is a deep roasted chocolate malt with an espresso aroma mixed in. Flavor is rich with coffee, dark chocolate, roast and toffee. No ashy flavors, wish is surprising considering the roastyness on this beast. Hops are preseant, but certainly take a back seat. ABV really wasn’t that apparent to me as I was drinking....it was after. Great beer.
