May 13, 2008 Bomber. Poured medium-deeper ruddy brown with a cap of deep tan head. The aroma picked up deeply-roasted yet sweeter coffee (perhaps some lactose sweetness in there).. toffee and caramel roll in behind, picking up some baker’s chocolate at the back.. sweeter overall with moderate roast and nice balance. The flavor was more about the roasted coffee with a sweeter chocolate and caramel appeal on the edges.. the back-end found a milky, almost oaty sweetness.. warm coffee and chocolate on the finish. Heavier-bodied and grainy on the palate with the alcohol well-masked.. higher carbonation.. just an OK feel and flow. This was a decent impy stout that I’d gladly drink again.

Jul 17, 2008 Black with big bubbly white head. alty aroma. A bit prickly carbonation. Nitro,and very drinkable is the interesting highlight. Baker’s chocolate, chocolate malt.

Sep 21, 2002 Dark brown color, creamy head. A full-bodied nitrogen-conditioned Russian Imperial Stout. Deeply roasted malts. Nice hop balance. Chocolate and coffee flavor. Very smooth taste, Nice flavor. Big and expansive. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and very smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. No alcohol bite despite a 9.5%. Excellent stout.

Sep 12, 2007 Bottle. [#12 Blind tasting session @ Sk8viking] Small rocky beige head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Black color. Aroma of molasses, chocolate, coffee, nutty, wood, vanilla. Full bodied with an alcoholic texture and a flat carbonation. Moderated to heavy sweet with light bitter flavor. Sweet light bourbon finishes with a long duration. Lovely 07-09-2007

Feb 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a tan head. Roasty bitterness, full bodied with a chewy dark fruits and lingering coffee. Brown sugar and vanilla. Not bad at all.

Oct 23, 2007 Cellar Reduction Night, Oct 20, 2007. Courtesy of Skyview. Black color with a thin head. A little coffee in the aroma. Strong dry roasted barley taste and a lot of raw, grain. Pretty straight forward and simple.

Dec 13, 2007 Pours a rich oily black with a thin oragne head. Aroma is lots of roasted barley chocoalte and coffee with some anise and tar. More tar and harsh oily black malts in the flavor with more roast hints of smoke and burnt malts- harsh acrid black malt finish- tacky as well. A bit fusely and harsh. Not as good as expected.

May 26, 2008 Bomber poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of cocoa, light earthiness and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, roastiness, light vanilla and a hint of licorice with a smooth malty finish.
Not bad but one of the more boring Impy Stouts I’ve tasted.
