Bottle provided by kenb. Pours opaque with a small creamy dark brown head that somewhat diminishes to rocky, fair to good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, chocolate, coffee, toasted), light hops (grass, perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of smoke. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; very nice toasted chocolate malt flavor.

Thanks to jasonmech77 for sharing this. Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a medium bubbly tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, some alcohol, roasted malts and some cappucino. Flavor of dark chocolate, espresso, some caramel, light hop bitterness, roasted malts and some nuttiness.

Bomber from Bevmo. Its nice to find another imperial stout that i can find locally that i haven’t rated. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and slightly coffee. Taste is sweet, liquory and overall decent.

bottle. Nearly black. Lots of roast in this one. Behind the roast some molasses/prunes/raisin notes with chocolate as well. Over roasted flavor. Not enough fruit/chocolate/coffee for me.

A medium bodied imperial stout. Black and low carbonation. Some roasted malt and a little bit sweet. Some chocolate. Medium quality for the style.

Bottle. Pours with a fluffy brown head over a, for all intensive purposes, black body. Decent lacing and some alcohol waves (but not legs). Aroma is roasty, coffee, leather, baked bread (sour dough), espresso, alcohol, and what seems like the lactose similar to the the note found in Guinness. Taste is coffee and chocolate with a lot of deeper, earthier coffee and leather notes dominating the finish. A bit of lactic notes, but very minimal. Some nice alcohol and anise flavors up front with the long, nutty-earthy roast finishing. A bit of smoke. Not bad. Creamy to lively bubbles, alcoholic finish. A touch thin though.

Bottle. Black beer with a small brown head. Rich, malty, caramel, slight coffee roast aroma. Full bodied. Rich malt, chocolate, caramel flavor with just enough hops to back it up. LIngering chocolate and slight bitterness. Alcohol noticeable. Well put together. Nice.

In short: A boring roasted dark beer.
How: Bottle. Age unknown, most likely fresh. Tasting session with Montreal crew.
The look: Dark brown body topped by an off-white ring of foam
In long: Standard roasted malts with toffee and some brown sugar. A little floury. Residual sugar level is a bit annoying especially considering the subtle (to say the least) hops presence. Finish has some roastiness and some brown sugar. No alcohol presence and that’s about the only real quality of this brew. No complexity or richness here. The beer is not tasty at all and is actually surprisingly bland despite its high gravity. Yet another overrated impy stout on ratebeer. Ratebeer’s ratings on Imperial Stouts are as reliable as trustable as the site itself. Because these days Ratebeer… Virus check complete… all viruses functioning normally...
