(22 oz. bottle from Bootleggers) Pours very dark brown with one finger of tan head. Multi-faceted aroma of sweet dark chocolate, coffee, port, raisin and plum. Palate is decent but kind of thin and fizzy for an Imp Stout. A bit sticky in finish, as well as a little drying. Taste is mostly chocolate-dominated, supported a bit by some of the other aromatic elements but mostly just chocolate and alcohol with a bit of char. Features quite an alcohol burn. Pretty good but kind of just average for the style.

Bomber. Don’t recall who sent me this, but thanks! Black with a brown head. Bitter chocolate and coffee nose, some herbal hop. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel, nice lace. Strong bitter chocolate flavor, coffee and licorice. An almost peaty smokiness creeps in after warming. Solid.

Bottle shared by OhioDad at C-Bus 6: Pours a nice black with a tan head. Aroma, roasty malts, chocolate, and some coffee. Flavor, matched the aroma pretty well, some slight bitterness on the end. Nice solid brew.

Thanks to jasonmech77 for sharing this... Appears black with dark brown edges when held to the light. A small tan head slowly fades with streaky lacing left around the glass. Smell is of coca, fruity, figs, cream, and roastiness. Taste is the mentioned aromas highlighted by caramel in a delicious, mildly fruity stout. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied, fizzy up front, creamy at some points with roasty notes with mild thinness that doesn’t outweigh the decent parts of this beer.

Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 12. Pours dark brown with light brown head lacing head. Slight alcohol aroma with a liqourice note. Thick roasted malty, slight chocolate and mild liqourice note into the finish. Clear alcohol finish, warming.

nice impy, dark black with lotsa beige head, kinda rocky, nose is coffee, alcohol and chocolate. flavor follows a similar path, great alcohol burn on the finish, nice thick mouthfeel.

22. Thanks, Pitonka! Pours opaque black with a fairly thin tan moussy shell. Sweet chocolatey nose--easily the dominant note. Medium, slightly velvety body. Plenty of carb, but not at all tingly or fizzy. Thorough coffee/chocolate-forward mid-palate. Nice mildly hoppy cling to the finish. I’d drink the hell out of this if it were more gettable for me.
