Aug 28, 2008 Pours an amber color with a nice head from the bottle. It smells sweet with a bit of spices and herbs in the nose. It is a thick IPA and a bit bitter. I found it to be very balanced. I thought the hops and the malts fought each other nicely leaving a good after taste on the palate. I enjoyed this one.

Nov 24, 2007 Toasted biscuit and herbal hops nose. Sweet and almost honeyed palate with notes of roast and pine. Big mouthfeel with more malt than one would expect for the style. Clean and lingering finish.

Dec 20, 2003 I don't think this is the same as the Ravensbrau, though I've never had that, partially since the ABV jumped up a notch. Certifiec organic. Ingredients: Water, Organic Malted Barley, Organic Hops, Hops. I'm guessing the last addition of hops are only partially organic?

Pours a nice dark yellow, with lots of floaties. The thick head lasts a long time and then slowly turns itself into a nice lace down the glass.
The aromatic hops are prevelant and they cover anything else that may be there almost completely, but there is a slight hint of fruit.
Tastes like an IPA should: Hoppy! Melon flavor hides in the back. The alcohol is apparent, though, which knocks the score down a notch.
Mouthfeel is full and *very* slightly metalic. Lots of carbonation.
Drinkability is only average. There's a grassy aftertaste that's making me wish I wasn't out of peanuts or something. I think this would be a lot better after some aging.

Nov 16, 2003 Updated: Aug 7, 2004Nice amber color with a rocky and frothy head. Sweet, biscuity-yeasty nose. Creamy and rich mouthfeel; nicely carbonated. Malts had notes of freshly baked bread and fresh yeast. Wholesome, toasty and earthy. Slight sourness. Nicely balanced IPA, although it had a malt slant.

Oct 22, 2002 Quite nice. dark orange color. very hop floral aroma. it is one of the sweeter IPA that i have had and liked. starts sweet and definitely allows you to experience some hop bitterness in the middle but that is cleared away by the sweetness returning.
