22 oz. bottle courtesy of Nate. Pours brown with red hues throughout with one finger, off-white head. Caramel and brown sugar nose with slight chocolate. Taste is sweet caramel with brown sugar, mild oxidation, and solid bitter towards the end. Pretty decent.

poured on tap at papago a hazy opaque reddish brown with a frothy beige head. there*s lots of trails, rings and webs of lacing all over the glass. very sweet smelling... aromas of apples, caramelized d*anjou pears, honey, flower-y perfume, grain and something pine-like. flowers carry over into the flavor profile as well.... along with chocolate, caramel, vanilla and some wood with mild roasty bitterness on the finish. there*s grain in there which seems to be a bit savory too. medium to full-ish bodied. the mouth feel is thick and rich from the sugar levels but in no way gets cloying. the slight bitterness and dry finish take care of that... 7/5/8/4/15/3.9

From bomber. Pretty heavy alcohol aroma with some oxidation and light butterscotch. Decent floral hop bitterness. Sweet medium roasted malts. Fairly mild in the nose. Dark brown-amber clear with light haze, topped with medium-thin light cream-tan lacing head. Medium-heavy watery body with effervescent carbonation. Alcohol warming. Starts malty sweet with caramel and roasted grain. Light oxidation flavors, alcohol and some oak. A little rough around the edges. Big bitter hop finish with warming. Bitter chalky after with light vanilla.

On tap at Papago Brewing in Phoenix. This was absolutely delicious. Notes of vanilla and pear over a great, intense, wonderfully sharp classic American strong ale taste. Caramel malt holds it all together. A perfect balance. Highly recommended.

Bottle courtesy of Tampa Tasting Group. Pours a dark red brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet and syrupy with notes of phenol, caramel, dark ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet and floral with a slight spice and notes of raisins and dark ripe fruit that gradually transitions to a slight bitterness. Lively carbonation with a hint of wood on finish.

great smooth aroma of toffee and caramel, slightly fizzy but plenty of body, not too sweet but excellent all around

Poured a dark brown/reddish color with fluffy head that lasted a little while. Aroma was malty and had hints of dark fruit. Taste is similar to the smell with some nice hops bitterness to balance it off. Mouthfeel was very pleasant. Drinkability for a beer of this abv was not too bad. Good stuff that I would have again.

Pours copper/ambre, beige head. Aroma, malty / caramel, dark fruits. Taste, nice caramel malts. Fruity, almost syrupy (maple) light hops, good carbonation. More goodness by Eel River.
