Pours a dark ruby color witha solid tan head. Aroma of sweet malts. Sweet malty taste with notes of honey, alcohol is well hidden. Nice mellow flavor for such a big beer.

22oz bottle. Pours a thinner but fairly murky reddish caramel color with a thinner but sticky cream colored very fizzy head. Aroma of a oxidized American barely wine, piney hoppy, cotton candy, nutty, very barleywine-ish. Flavor follows exactly, strong hopped nutty English barleywine, very nutty, cherries, lots of aged piney hops, similar to Big Foot, cotton candy, American barleywine with nutty and cherry English malt character. Medium bodied, powdery chalky feeling, softer fizzy carbonation. Pretty good.

Bomber. Malty, caramel aroma with alcoholic fumes and spices. Malty flavor with alcohol burn and hops and a bit of fruit. Sweet, but not overly so. Good.

Bought at local off sale. Surprised at how good this was. Nice balance of sweet malt and nuts, a hint of sour and bitter, even some carmel and exotic fruit. Worth another try.

12th August 2008. Odd one this... sweet chocolate malt and a little coca cola in the middle (breifly) and then a bitterish juicy grapefruit finish. The contrast between the sweet chocolate and the bitter grapefruit is pronounced. Don’t drink this too cold or it just tastes like a salty barleywine!

Bottle. Heavy dark roasted and cereal malt aromas right up front, with light floral and citrus hops, leather for the yeast with dried cherry and brown sugar in the background. Head is small, frothy, faintly off-white with spotty lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is a deep reddish brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, a touch oily with a lively carbonation. Well balanced and nice complexity makes this a pretty good Old Ale.

Bottle from Hi Time Wine. Not nearly old enough, and I knew that would probably be the case when I opened it. Fool. Nose is tart but dark malt, color is a nice deep maroon with ruby flecks. Flavor is sort of an ASA burn with fruit, middling malt, dark amber flavors. Meh.

This as good as it get when it comes to delicious high quality complex beer. There is a lot going on here. It just tastes great. Smells great and looks great. It has a background coconut flavor that is incredible. This should have a 100 rating. Has a tinge of sour that is beautiful. Friggin tasty. This beer has changed my mind about organic beers. Deep cherry amber color. Malt madness. Yeah Baby! Will buy this again and keep for special occasion.

Sampled at a Mead, Cider, and Beer Tasting for Binny’s Beverage Depot in Glen Ellyn, IL. The pour to my wine/sampler glass was a brownish amber with an off white, foamy head and clingy spots of lacing. The aroma was malty, brown sugar sweetness, and dried fruit. The flavor continued the malt sweetness with warming alcohol and moderate hop bitterness. A good, potent sipper.
