A Mes rate. Bottle at GBBF.
Chestnut brown with a thin off white head. A good blend of fruity malt, slight chocolate and some nice sweet caramel notes. Nice dry finish with a hint of bitterness and some late licks of alcohol. A decent dubbel.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 2 Aug 2009) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dark fruit, wild berries and caramel. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, berries, cherries, dark bread, caramel and a mildly bittersweet finish. Excellent balance. More than medium body, fairly sweet with a spicy bitterness to match. Very nice beer.

Bottle. Dark brown with an initially large beige head. Aromas are chocolate and berries with hints of parma violet and bready yeast. Flavours are sweet toffee and chocolate with sticky ripe pear. Yeasty and smooth with a light dry finish. Decent

Bottled GBBF 09. A dark brown coloured beer with a whitish head. Nutty chocolate and sweet malts on the nose. The taste is slightly roasty with some candy sugar. A nouveau dubbel which could do with a bit more depth if anything.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown color. Pear, malt and a hint of roast in the aroma. Malt, pear drups, licorice and some roast in the sweet flavor. Roastbitter aftertaste with nutmeg. Not bad, maybe a bit too sweet.

Bottle at GBBF ’09. Many thanks to maeib for this. Hazy brown with an earthy aroma. Sweet chocolate taste. Slight dryness. Deceptively easy drinking for 7%. Very nice.
