| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 17, 2009 No alcohol - a leftover from when beers were banned on Island - Bottle 33 cl. Pours a sparkling deep brown with a dark tanned head. The nose is dominated of brown sugar (kandis), dark rye bread and cinnamon. The taste is very very sweet - like the sweetness found in traditional danish christmasbeers enjoyed to the traditional riceporridge - just sweeter. Its dominated of brown sugar and malts. Is rather uncomplex with a watery palate. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Pours a deep brown slight haze. doughy rye and wheat bagel aroma with an overly sweet cloying malt extract character- almost stale though. Toasty and sweet malts, molasses, brown sugar, and a salty malt oxidation- corny and gritty as well with a slick finish. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Aroma is husky and sweet. Rye malt, toast and a fairly sweet toastiness. Flavour is sweet as well, but with a nice rye flavour. Sweet and grainy with a fairly strong brown sugar character. Nice for what it is. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Shared by puzzl. Pours brown with a sporadic tan head. Aroma is straight up freshly baked rye bread. The mouthfeel is light and slick, with a tad too sweet of a flavor, but it remains smooth and bready with an underlying sugary character. Very tasty overall. Definitely a good example of a Russian Kvass beverage. puzzl (2621), New York, New York, USA

Pure, rich, absolutely fresh pumpernickel bread, so grainy. Its absolutely lovely. Very unique, everything Id want out of a kvass or kvass like beverage. Very sweet in flavor, nice fizz, bready, cheesy. I like this, I must admit.
