oldrtybastrd (1512), Morlautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany May 11, 2008 Pours a dark amber color. Aromas of dark malts, fruit, and a touch of smoke. Roasty malt flavor that bitters towards the end. Namako (4), APO AE, USA does not count Apr 16, 2008 Poured from a 0.5 liter bn bottle, with a "born on" date of 11/2007. Dense tan head that dispersed rather quickly, leaving a light tan head in its place. Clear, dark amber color, with a sweet, roasted chocolate aroma. Certainly can tell that there’s some alcohol - 8% ABV on the label - but well balanced, and therefore subdued. Not my favorite German bock, but I would certainly buy another rack of 20 anytime I came across it at a local Getrankmarkt (I’m living in Heidelberg, Germany). madsberg (4365), Bangalore, India Jul 14, 2007 Bottled. Burgundy coloured. Uncleaer. Dense light brown head. Ripe fruits, sweetness, alcohol in the aroma. Plums and prunes, sweetness, spice and alcohol in the flavour. Meidum bodied. Fruity end. pivnizub (3793), Porúří, Germany Apr 29, 2007 Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep amber coloured, smaller off-white foamy layer; molasses, dark dried fruit and a touch of port in the nose; robust sweet bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; mainly molasses and dark fruit in the sweet finish, some bitterness, that keeps it well balanced, detectable in the very end. Not the worst Bock........ johndoughty (1614), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Apr 20, 2007 The was no alcohol information on the bottle so I ploughed not realising it is 8 per cent!. Swing top bottle and lively upon pouring.Brown appearance and lively upon pouring. Full bodied, nutty and refreshing.
