Maria (3975), Thisted, Denmark May 10, 2008 From tap in the brewery’s Biergarten. Light golden with a very dense head. The aroma has notes of malt and hops, and the flavour has a light sweetness and nice and fruity hops. It’s smooth and delicious in the malt/caramel note and it has hops that gives a pleasant bitterness. It’s very harmonic and nice.
Jukkabro (2369), Tampere, Finland Sep 3, 2008 Yellow colored with little white head. Slightly buttery aroma with fine hops, fruits also present, decent German one. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also crispily hopped and palated with fruits, slight cardboard also present. Aftertaste is still hopped and fruity. Decent good pils. Ungstrup (11147), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 2, 2007 Draft. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty and slighlty flowery. The flavor is sweet malty with a light note of butter mingling with the notes of flowery hops, leading to a bitter finish, where the buttery note lingers. Not as clean as expected. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2006 (On tap) Clear, pilsener golden with a white head leaving laces. Malty nose with traces of butter. Medium body with sweet notes of malt and again a whiff of butter. Dry but not overly hoppy finish. 121106 bierkoning (4740), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 11, 2005 Bottle, bought in a Getränkehalle near Forchheim. Hoppy hay-like flavor with leak and a hint of boiled milk. Just a bit malty. Also hay in the aroma. Smells and tastes very rural, has somewhat of a barnyard character.
