I have no doubt that the plethora of German beers are very tasty when imbibed close to their source, but nearly all of them taste a bit off once they reach the Midwest of the U.S.A. Regardless, the body of this beer is a light gold, and the head was predictably white. The head didn’t last very long, though, but it did leave some lacing. Typical German Pilsener aroma (the one the develops coming across the ocean and while spending time on the docks), and the flavor pretty much follows suit. But the carbonation is quite good, and for that I am very grateful. Overall, I think this might be a tasty beer in Germany, but I won’t pay to have it again over here. faroeviking (6127), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 22, 2008 On tap at Three Floyds Brewpub and served in an Einbecker footed pilsner glass. This beer poured a crystal clear golden with a high level of active carbonation dancing around the glass. A decent head of bright white foam slowly faded away, leaving a small amount of fine lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of grass, mildly sweet biscuit, and a modest noble hop note. The flavor was very clean and true to the aroma. The mouthfeel was light-bodied and crisp with a high level of carbonation. Not too bad. kappldav123 (1888), Markkleeberg, Germany

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Pours a clear light golden color with a respectable white fluffy head. Crisp clean aroma like rainwater and hop flowers. Has a delicious refreshing pilsner taste of sweet pale malt and light hop bitterness. A very good pils, but a little too watery. More malt & hops and less water would be better. TBone (6850), Pori, Finland
