pours a clear amber with a white head. doughey cornmeal aroma. taste is malt-heavy with some cornmeal and wheaty notes. mid-bodied with a pillowy mouthfeel, and a sweetish malty finish. would probably make a nice session brew. not a bad heller b, though not amazing either. if you enjoy the style, you might like it a bit more than i did. overall though, not bad, but not very complex or exciting. would make a good cool early spring drink.

Bottle. Pours an amber colour with a white head. Malty on the nose with some perfumy and flowery hops. The alcohol is present, but do not disturb me. Flavour is a bit sweet and peppery (the alcohol again) with good malty notes ( especially in the finish) . Godd bitterness. Good beer

Bottle. Caramel brown color with no head. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Taste-caramel, toffee and some hops. A bit disappointed. Did not meet expectations, but still adequate.

11.2 oz. bottle on 2/03/2008. Clear gold, medium white head settling to a thin veil in a few minutes. Light toffee and honey aroma, distant floral character also noted. Smooth, medium body with medium carbonation, slightly sugary mouthfeel. Gently sweet as it hits the tongue, with soft bitterness gradually coming on, but still finishes slightly sweet. This really is pretty decent, not too sweet, easily drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours dark straw w/ a foamy head. Sweet aroma, like honey, banana. Taste is also sweet with some of the same flavors. This is tasty, but not great.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Fine foam for a bock. Aroma a little bit alcoholic. Tastes spicy and strong, finish a little bit malty. Really good beer.

Pours copper with a one-finger white head. Malty, lightly grainy aroma. Very smooth, with caramel-honey malt up front and a bit of a hop kick on the end. Subtle, but noticeable, alcohol presence. Good little session bock.
