I had this with lightly cooked shrimp and salmon with Thai sauces. It had a good effect of malt to offset the heat of the food and the hop elements were faint or to the sides of the taste.

Pours amber with a white head. The aroma hs caramel and biscuit malt. Also there is some hoppish notes. Flavor is malty with caramel and a bit of hoppishness.

A very clear orange beer with a fleeting white head. The aroma is of malt, cookies... pretty funky, actually. The body is medium weight and lively. The flavor is reasonably bitter and... metallic, funky, maybe a bit of apple. I think this one was skunked.

(Bottle from Systembolaget) Clear golden color, fluffy orange head. Sweet malty scent. Sweet, grainy and alcohol taste. Medium mouthfeel, big alcohol bitterness.

Pours a mostly clear, coppery/amber under a small, off-white head. Subtle hints of bubblegum in the aroma behind an otherwise dominant aroma of malt while the hoppng here is rather bitter. Smooth in the mouth with a delicate malt sweetness making way for a sour bitterness. Not bad, possibly overshelved.

tap at Maproom. This was a very nice and clean bock. After having the Spaten at the maproom, I had pretty low expectations. Thankfully, this one raised them back up and showed me how tasty a heller bock can be. nice dark gold, fruity and clean. A bit of heat and hops. But very tasty.

Bottle at home. Purs a nice dark golden with thin head. Aroma of honey, taste of malt, lots of malt, little hops. Not my cuppa.
