| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2007 From a stubby 11.2 oz. embossed green bottle with a freshness date on the back label.
Poured a clear copper hued amber with a large fluffy, rocky head, good retention, settled into a thin creamy lacing, fair amount of sticking.
Aromas of sweet caramel and grains, a light yeastiness and whiffs of floral, spicy alcohol.
Good steady carbonation and a malty crisp, dryish, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Good malty taste with a nice German hoppiness at the end, sweet caramelized malty with a light butter toffee, herbal, spicy hops kick in at the end with a good lingering soft bitterness, the alcohol makes a brief appearance at the end and a dryish sweet malty, soft hoppy finish.
This was much better than I was expecting, a good Maibock/Helles bock at an affordable price.

Some hops present which were quickly masked by the carbonation. I enjoyed this beer a lot, a perfect abv% for this style. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA
