Definitely has some caramel in the start. It’s like a lighter, hoppier, not-as-good Doppelsticke. A nice beer for sure. And actually, the heaviness does creep up on you.

Copper color with no head. What is with the green bottles?! Skunked out malt aroma and flavor. Blech.

A strange "over-maltiness" that is hard to describe- lots of paper flavor. I also expected more alcohol, but at this rate in my evening, the lower is better! :)

Copper color. Sweet fragrance and creamy-sweet taste - the sweetness of caramel and mellowness of banana. Low on carbonation. Not bad; I would certainly drink this again.

Couleur ambrée, apparence claire et pleinement filtrée vêtu d’une dense mousse blanche. Malt caramel, toffee, grain de la ferme et herbes. Ce genre d’interprétation d’une bock me surprend à chaque fois. Saveurs restreintes, étalement court, beurre, caramel, herbes. Finale sucrée, faible carbonatation. Growler, Half Time N .Y., Septembre 2005.

This is a bock? What? I’m sick of this brewery... I keep buying their beer and it keeps sucking. It’s all got that overly bready, vegetably taste. This tasted the exact same as the Dunkel of their’s I tried, which basically means suck. Don’t bother.

Bottle. Whew, who let the skunk out? Yellowish amber, decent head, that familliar skunky sour smell that many german lagers seem to have. Sour, bready tastes. A bit of hops, malty sweet. Blech. I just can’t get into German stuff.

Draft, Half Time. Totally clear biscuity amber, covered by a simple white ring. Weird nose combines elements from tartish mint pills, honey and overcooked bread. Mysteriously chocolatey, stuffy. The herbal bite from the hops is very nice, but the absence of any breadyness is disappointing. Slight alcohol bite feels a bit out of place as well. Softly earthy and bananaish in the finish. Average..
