Malty, toffee, caramel, slightly roasted aroma. Same flavor. A bit sweet with hops in the finish giving some dry bitterness. Creamy yet light, medium body. Less carbonation than expected. Excellent beer. oh6gdx (9047), Vasa, Finland
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 5, 2005 Bottled. Copper coloured, small white bubbly head. Dry fruit and citric caramellish notes in aroma. Caramellish malty aroma with a bit hoppy finish. Also some hints of alcohol, but it fits the beer well. Licorace, caramel and alcohol in aftertaste. Full palate, and very smooth. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 4, 2005 This beer was somewhat scary to begin with, it being in a green bottle and all. This pours a clear ambery color with significant visible carbonation tornadoes, a big frothy pearlish head and minor lacing. Heavily carbonated for sure. Aroma of dry fruits, nectarines, oranges, citrus, roasted barley.. a bit strange, but unfortunately also some skunked bottle aroma as well. Flavor is medium bodied and very sticky. Heavy malty base, sweet with dried fruits and orange tang, but somewhat cardboardy and almost...old. Definitely didnt taste like the freshest bottle. Bitter finish, sweets and sours well covered, not exceptional. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Pours a clear light brown with copper highlights with a dense creamy ivory head. Lacy as hell, sticky sheets of lace. Smells of light caramel and molasses and some hops.
Taste is rich caramel malt. very malty and lightly fruity. Nice hoppy bite for balance in the finish. Mouth is lightly sticky but really refreshing at the same time. Oh so tasty. A pleasant surprise. burgerlicious (308), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 24, 2005 (11.2oz bottle) Purchased at the Party Source in Syracuse, NY. Pours a medium, white head with a copper, lightly-carbonated body. Nose if very bready and mildly skunked (as are most foreign beers at the Party Source). Flavour is much fully and more malty than expected. Still very doughy but a dried fruit flavour mixes with the roasted malt. I believe that this is past its prime or weas stored improperly. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jul 22, 2005 On tap: Light amber w/ a lasting creamy off white head. Floral hop aroma w/ some toasty malt to back it up: Clean w/ a bit of raisiny character. Well balanced and a bit malty up front w/ a heavy toasted malt flavor. A bit of alcohol & flowery hop @ the finish that is a tad bitter and lingering into the aftertaste. Clean heavy toasty malt flavor throughout. Higher carbonation and a bit dry w/ some alcohol warmth with a medium full body. A bit to bitter for my liking, but a very good beer. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Draft at Mr. Dunderbak’s in Tampa. I’ve had this from a bottle and the draft sample was a hundred times better. Aroma brings ample alcohol and some malt sweetness. Pale golden color. Decent head. I drank this just after a St. Bernardus 12 and a Kostritzer and I have to say the alcohol flavor in the Einbecker aproiximated that of the St. Bernardus. Nice sweet initial flavor followed by some sugary malt and finished with a dash of hop flavor. A very feint touch of caramel is in there as well. Really enjoyed this.
