Bottle, 33cl - Dark golden beer with a large off white head. Malty aroma with hints of spices, butter and caramel. Flavor is sweet with notes of oranges and grass. Nice Heller Bock

Bottle. Pours a clear dark golden to light amber color with a white head which fades a way pretty fast, some minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet-like and very malty, there’s some light notes of caramel and grass. Flavour is quite sweet and malty with some grassy hops. Light to medium bitter finish. Medium bodied in the mouth, soft carbonation, somewhat smooth. Some alcohol can be noticable too. Quite nice for sipping, but not one of the best bocks I’ve had. Worth a try.

clear light amber, thick smooth wihte head. not much aroma, a little ordinary macro going on. faint bitterhops. flavor is alcoholic strong with a cellary mouldy side to it. tastes like a macro strong beer brewed primarily for alcoholics. quite sweet. too alc. brutal for me, i won’t come back for more. tasted 6 month before best before date.

2009 Bottle - Pours orange with no head...aroma is dark malt, grain, grass..flavour is suprising, rich cocoa malt up front, with a burnt sugar bitterness, very noticable alcohol kick...heavy, and certainly doesn’t make me think spring...

Bottle into a mug. Dark golden color with a moderate white head. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is of malt with a slight alcohol note. Crisp without being overly abrupt and the alcohol note comes through in the taste true to style. A nice brew.

Using a Czech pils glass for enjoying this beer, it pours a clear and appetizing light amber color with thin wispy head. Very attractive beer. Nose is carmel malt all the way, with some fresh baking bread notes in the background. Again very appetizing. It simply makes you yearn, yes yearn. On the palate the alcohol has a commanding presence but this is somewhat expected with the style. Toasted brown sugar and caramelly malt flavors dominate, but the focus on the flavor shifts quickly to appreciating it’s medium to light body refreshing quality as it goes down. Flavors linger but it still manages to present itself as a thirst quenching, highly drinkable beer. A very balanced example of this style compared to others I have sampled that are too alcoholic or have nothing to balance out the malt.

Guess this is what the danish bocks tries to be. Copper look with a thin white head. Mild sweet malt aroma along with notes of grain and grass. Fresh well balanced flavor. Mild sweet and medium bitter with a well hidden alchohol precense.
