| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2008 Gift bottle. Pours a clear amber with a frothy, off white head which breaks down fairly quickly to a thin, patchy head, while the lace remains. Aroma is of sweet bread & malt with a liitle touch of maple & honey. Flavor has a good bitterness, with the malt, almost wine sweetness remaining, in addition to some nuttiness & spice. Presentable body & good carbonation. NosirIwont (1184), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark

Cereal notes – more as it warms. Sweetish, grainy flavour. Alcohol. Sweet and bitter finish. Lingering malty and grainy notes. Slightly oily palate. Meh. This might as well be a European strong lager. Not impressed! 31-10-08. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2008 This heller bock is only slightly superior to the Urbock dunkel. This one is sweeter and more cloying (a clinging quality not too favorable), but overall still enjoyable. Smallish and humble beer, I say. Glouglouburp (2865), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2008 In short: A tasty and refreshing true Heller Bock. Slighlty above average.
How: Bottle (about 500ml?), consumed fresh a few days after purchase.
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is unmistakably lager with a little horse blanket added for good measure. The kind of pleasantly stinky lager nose I’ve come to enjoyed. Full body, taste is crisp, citrus juice, citrusy caramel, that boiled eggs I get from many typical lagers. Juicy and refreshing yet nourishing and almost heavy (for the style). Good juicy and round bitterness. This is true to the style and a bit more tasty than average. A satisfying summer thirst quencher that will never get much respect with north-american raters. I liked it, Mai-Ur-Bock be as good as mine was.
