Bottle. Pours with a brown color and medium head. Very pronounced aromas of toffee and caramel. Flavors of malts, lots of caramel, toffee and strawberries. Very nicely done, not too cloying or sweet.

On draught at Tjeldsundfergen, Oslo. Hazy copper, creamy offwhite head. Caramel and malty aroma. Good malty toffee flavours. Spicy. A great beer.

Draught at Tjeldsundfergen, Oslo. A lovely brown beer, which I would not call dunkel. Lots of flavour, more malt than hops, but well balanced. Warming alcohol in the background and finish. A fine beer.

Medium bodied and refreshing. Light enough to work well with cooling spicy foods. Slightly sweet. Not really hoppy at all.

Transparant deep mahogany colored beer with a dense off-white head, and a lush deep malty aroma with honey, floral hoppiness & slight tart yeastiness. The taste is deeply malty supported by strong Noble-hops, surprisingly full-on for such a bock! Good dry (and long) finish, too. Don’t be fooled by the bottle & lable, this is an excellent bock.

Rating # 500. On tap@Tjeldsund, Oslo. (An old ferry located in the harbour of central Oslo that never leaves the dock...but if it should leave, it’ll probably sink to the bottom). Pours clear orange/red with a thin and dense khaki head. Served a bit too chilled, but pleasant aromas of malt, caramel, marzipan and cookies reveals after a while. Taste is medium sweet and dominated by a strong malt base, fortunately with a proper hopbitterness to balance the flavors. Full body. Soft mouthfeel. Nice and lingering bitter finish. A lovely bock enjoyed in a perfect environment.
