On tap at Wildeman, Amsterdam. Smells very yeasty like marmite on brown bread. Quite a strong aroma, with a hen-peck of choc too. Colour is toasty brown, with a soft snow covering of head. Flavour is a bit aggressive too, especially on the finish. Metally, nutty cereal body, with crisp carbonation. A goodish, dry, strong flavoured beer, but not the sort of thing I’ll come back to neccessarily.

Orange with a weak white head, this has a sweet malt aroma, a tad too light for my liking. The sweet malt flavors are accompanied by a touch of roasted barley and a faint earthy hopping. The finish is fairly bitter for a bock, but this is real easy to drink and a welcome change from some of the pale lagers that I’ve been trying out lately.

Dark amber beer with a decent head. Aroma is a weak malt and grassy hops. Flavour is initially slightly sweet, with a rich malt middle and a little bitter and hoppy finish.

I’m not thrilled about this one. Pours a somewhat cloudy amber from a green bottle. Small, off-white head with thin lacing. Flavor is like lysol (don’t ask me how I know this). Not sure if the flavor is due to its age or shipping from Germany, but whatever its definitely not good. Weak palate for a bock. Overall, a huge disappointment.

Slightly cloudy, deep amber hues, with a very thin tan head. Malty, sweet aroma, with a malty Bock-type taste and a mildly bitter aftertaste.

Pours into a snifter a deep amber. Very malty and barnyard in the nose. Very tinny taste with bitter finish.

Dark red/gold color. Faint head, decent lacing. Quiet sweet, has bitterness. Very thin liquid feel in mouth. Easy enough to drink.
