Quite a strong aroma, with a hen-peck of choc too. Colour is toasty brown, with a soft snow covering of head. Flavour is a bit aggressive too, especially on the finish. Metally, nutty cereal body, with crisp carbonation. A goodish, dry, strong flavoured beer, but not the sort of thing I’ll come back to neccessarily. Quinten (959), zaandam, Netherlands

The sweet malt flavors are accompanied by a touch of roasted barley and a faint earthy hopping. The finish is fairly bitter for a bock, but this is real easy to drink and a welcome change from some of the pale lagers that I’ve been trying out lately.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 29, 2006 I’m not thrilled about this one. Pours a somewhat cloudy amber from a green bottle. Small, off-white head with thin lacing. Flavor is like lysol (don’t ask me how I know this). Not sure if the flavor is due to its age or shipping from Germany, but whatever its definitely not good. Weak palate for a bock. Overall, a huge disappointment. IrishBoy (2712), Bakersfield, California, USA
