Eminently drinkable beer with a lighter palate. One would think this beer would have a very popular appeal because it is so easy to drink.

Pours a clear orange with a big loose head. The aroma is heavily sweet and malty with tons of caramel and some toasty bread with a faint nuttiness. The flavor is very caramel sweet and is nicely balanced with noble hops providing a very mild bitterness. The classic German graininess is very well featured and I quite like that. This has everything to love about the flavor of good German Pilsner with the malt cranked up to 11.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden-amber with a small white head. Sweet, fruity aroma. Malt/bread notes in the background, which become more outspoken as it warms. Also develops wooden, dusty, slight cereal and remote grainy notes. Sweet, malty flavour with wooden notes. Remote metallic notes. Bitter, malty finish. Slight notes of apple lingering. Decent, but nothing special. 09-02-09.
