Bottle green, 330 ml
Appearance: Pours orangy - brown with gentle reddis hue, shiny body is perfectly clear, carbonation is medium, density of the body is thin, head is initially small quickly decreasing to the minute crown, rather no visible lacing, head colour is off - white, a bit creamy, frothy.
Aroma: Sweet, juicy, fruity, refreshing and inviting. Red fruits, red wine grapes, Munich malt, slight toastyness hidden under the gentle alcoholic nose, very well hidden alcoholic content as compared to the previously tasted ’Andechser Bergbock Hell’. Hoppy profile is definitely weak and beer is dominated with maltyness, not too dull and sweet though.
Flavour: Surprisingly the flavour is very, very bitter. Big loads of hops, nice and sharp, defined and focused bitterness on palate, rather no special retronasal hoppy aroma but flavour is wonderful. I didn’t expected such a positive bitter surprise from that brew. Later on some grainy roasted touch of burned malted barley and Munich malt play an interesting role with alcoholic warmth on palate. Alcohol is very well hidden on the other hand. Later on a bit herbal nose. Finish duration is long.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is medium, finish feel is light alcoholic and a bit chalky. aru (105), Smřrum, Denmark

In addition a long lasting aftertaste. A really nice beer! It pours a dark color. I love the taste of it and the price. When other rare imported beers cost atleast $4-5 per bottle I can get a 6 pack of this for around $11. This was the first beer I drank that wasn’t your typical grocery store mass produced imported beer and it reall rasied my standards. I buy it all the time now, I gladly pay the $11 for a 6 pack as this beer is in my top 3. brichaz (1), Oak Park, Illinois, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2008 11.2 fl. oz. bottle to glass stein
Ar - Beer pours with a firm 2-finger pale brown head. Head lingers quite a while. Crystal clear brew the with red reddish brown of autumn leaves (aww...)
Ap - Malt and yeast in a nice balance. Raisiny. A tiny bit of hop spice pokes through.
F - Sweetness hits right away. Brown bread, plums, dates.
P - Feels lighter than it tastes or looks. Somewhat slippery
OO - Bring on the sausages. Would be great with some german (or Thai imo) food. Don’t mind this a bit.
