Rune (2757), Tromsø, Norway Nov 10, 2009 330ml dark green bottle from Systembolaget, Kiruna. Shared with Finn. Film type head, fragile lacework. Clear golden. Discreet and clean smell of malts. Quite neutral in the taste profile with notes of malts and fruity hops. Subdued alcohol steam. Rounded mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Refreshing, but overall a bit disappointing (rating session at Halloween in Skibotn, 31.10.2009). imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 30, 2009 Bottled, 330ml from DerDoppelbock, cheers my friend. Gold with white head. Crisp and dry beer with a big alcohol kick within the flavour, quite herbal in character, touches of thyme and basil within the flavour. A sharp hopped note lingers throughout the beer, but mostly an oily alcohol in the end. Interesting beer. pilsnerrogge (1770), Finspång, Sweden Oct 29, 2009 Bottled: Pours clear golden with a small head. Nose is sweet and malty with notes of honey, grass and alcohol. Flavour is fat malt and honey. Alcohol bitter finish. Nisse666 (313), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 11, 2009 AR: pilzner, hops, grass
AP: high but thinn head, pilzner yellow - medium lasting
F: alcohol, dry maltyness, light oily consistence.
Will not bye again! wkalle (110), Sweden Sep 22, 2009 Pours amber with a medium moderately lasting white head. Clean herbal hop aroma with a grainy background, very inviting. Malty sweetness and a spicy bitter finish with an almost creamy palate in the finish. A very nice bock. gunnar (487), Sandnes, Norway Sep 10, 2009 Bottle.Clear pale with a small creamy white head.Sweet malty aroma. Sweet taste, feels the alcohol presence as well, hops comes in at the end. RuneStumo (495), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Aug 21, 2009 28.02.2004, 0,33l Bottle. Pale golden colour. There is a lot of bitternes both in the aroma and in the aftertaste. Aromatic malty aroma and aftertaste. Well balanced hoppy bitternes. Nice. asheft (1374), Marburg, Germany Aug 14, 2009 [bottle]
Nice grainy aroma with base malt sweetness and a touch of peach fruity hops. Clear gold covered by a thin white sheet with larger bubbles at the sides. Sweet and peppery spicy base malt that is a touch grainy. Well balanced overall. Obviously strong, but not ethanolic or warming. And a fruitiness to the hops makes this more than just a strong lager. Good beer. Medium body, medium carbonation, slightly spicy bitter finish.
