Bottle from a great trade with Koelschtrinker (thanks!). A clear golden beer with a big, quite stable, white head. Sweetish malty aroma. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a touch of caramel. Finishes with herbal hops bitterness and some alcohol. Medium-bodied. A bit boring, but OK.

Bottle. Clear, golden body, with a nice, white head. There’s a quite evident alcohol aroma for starter, followed by a grainy sweetness and some fruity hops. Alcohol starts the show flavorwise as well. It is also malty, gainy, fruity and slightly hoppy and sweet. Full-bodied, with an oily feeling, and finishing with more alcohol, sweetness and fruity, bittering hops. Definately not a bad bock, but too focused on alcohol. It almost gave me a hard time to finish, but I sort of got used to it towards the bottom of the glass. (070829)

Bottle from St Albans beer festival. Golden coloured with a decent, rocky white head. Aroma had a sweet malty edge to it with some hay. Flavour also started sweet with a bitter finish. Alcohol was quite pronounced. Good.

Bottl from derdoppelbock. Aroma has quite a bit of the unusal baked bean character, grassy hop, but sweet. Taste is hioghly carbonated again the bean in the nose distracts from the hop character, leaving just a sweet liquid that slips down nicely.
